The department shall annually monitor funding used in, and hours of service provided in, the California state preschool program, and shall annually report to the Department of Finance and to the

Legislature a statewide summary identifying the estimated funding used for, and the number of, preschool age children receiving part-day preschool and wraparound childcare services. The annual report shall include a comparison to the prior year on a county-by-county basis.
