The warden described in this chapter shall, subject to the control of the director, have those powers, perform those duties and exercise those functions, respecting females convicted of felonies, as the wardens now exercise over male prisoners.

The department is authorized to provide the necessary facilities, equipment, and personnel to operate a commissary at any institution under its jurisdiction for the sale of toilet articles, candy, gum, notions, and other sundries.
