§ 16467.1

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 16467 of this code, fire departments, street lighting systems, public parks, public playgrounds, public swimming pools, public recreation buildings, buildings used for a public purpose, and works to provide for the drainage of roads, streets, and public places, including, but not limited to, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and pavement of streets need not be operated on a self-sustaining, revenue-producing basis. Revenue to defray the cost of acquiring, constructing, installing, maintaining, improving, and operating such utilities and to pay the principal and interest and to create reserve and sinking funds on any indebtedness incurred

in connection therewith, may be raised in any manner authorized by this division.
