This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Irrigation District Federal Cooperation Law.

The provisions of this chapter apply only to proceedings taken under it and do not apply to district operations unrelated to cooperation with the United States.
Except as required expressly or by necessary implication by this chapter all other provisions of this division are unaffected by this chapter.

The definitions in Chapter 2 of Part 1 of this division are applicable to this chapter.

Article 35 (commencing with Section 20560) of Chapter 1 of Part 3 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code does not apply in the case of any contract between a district and the United States.

The board shall perform all acts necessary to carry out the enlarged powers enumerated in this chapter.
