§ 13900

The object and purpose of this chapter is to provide a coordinated, comprehensive approach to providing assistance and out-of-home care in nonmedical care facilities for recipients of public assistance who qualify for aid under Chapter 3 (commencing with Section 12000) and Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 13000) of this part, and who are capable of self-care and self-direction but are so impaired that such persons require or can function more effectively if protected by a living arrangement that meets their particular situation.
