(a)The department or its authorized agents shall conduct periodic audits or review, including onsite audits or review, to monitor compliance with Article 4 (commencing with Section 14400) of Chapter 8 with regard to any contract made pursuant to this article. These reviews may be conducted with or without notice and may include assistance by the Attorney General if requested.
(b)The department may terminate a contract, in whole or in part, when the director determines that this action is necessary to protect the health of the beneficiaries or the funds appropriated
to carry out the Medi-Cal program.
