§ 21883

Amended by Stats. 1996, Ch. 872, Sec. 30. Effective January 1, 1997.

The report shall be given by telephone, telegraph, or mail to the owner of the animal if known. If the owner of the animal is unknown, the report shall be given to the office of the sheriff or brand inspector whose office or established headquarters is, to the knowledge of the railroad employee who makes the report, the nearest to the place of the collision.
