The owner or operator of any privately owned high rise structure shall annually certify that he or she has requested the appropriate local fire enforcing agency to conduct an inspection of the building to determine its conformance with all applicable high rise structure fire safety standards. The certification shall be submitted by letter to the State Fire Marshal.

The State Fire Marshal may establish regulations for certification according to Section 13233, including the general form and contents of letters certifying conformance with high rise fire codes.
